Earlier this month we held a Community Update for our Glebe Hill Village project in Hobart. Glebe Hill Village is the first supermarket anchored neighbourhood shopping centre to be developed in metropolitan Hobart in over 10 years. It’s set to be the east side’s most convenient shopping destination. As always with our projects, we want to involve the local community as much as possible – after all, it’s their shopping centre, not ours.
We were thrilled that over 100 people attended to hear the latest news and ask questions about Glebe Hill Village, which is to be opened in August 2022. Along with the Tipalea team, we also welcomed representatives from the leasing agent, CBRE, as well as many of our retailers.
Throughout the evening, we discussed the leasing status of the centre, plan for construction by Fairbrother, creation of jobs, tech features to be implemented, incorporation of public art, as well as the DA for a 24-hour McDonald’s. We are overwhelmed with the support for the centre and appreciated the great questions the community had!
“Appreciate the very informative meeting, even a few laughs too. Great evening and thank you again. Absolutely looking forward to when it is built and we can enjoy the amazing shopping centre…” commented community member, Luke, following the meeting.
“It was great to see much more comprehensive and detailed drawings of the site and design elements which answered so many of the questions I had. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh…” said Sar, another Howrah local.
