Cobram Village continues to move forward with the State Government agreeing to the exhibition of plans for the proposed new $40 million neighbourhood retail centre for public comment.
The plans are currently on exhibition at Moira Shire Council and also on the websites of both Moira Shire Council and Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.
“We are excited that the project is moving forward and encourage the community to get behind us and show their support for the new centre by making submissions to Council,” said Scott Spanton, CEO of Tipalea Partners.
Over 700 people completed an online Cobram Village Survey, which was available on its Facebook page. The Cobram Village Survey profiled the shopping habits of the local community and more importantly, asked for feedback on what is needed for the future of retail in Cobram from a consumer perspective.
Cobram Village will target national retailers to bring lower prices for everyday shopping and significantly boost local employment. It will create more than 200 construction jobs and a further 200 ongoing local jobs once the centre opens.
